Jen’s Solitude

My peace does not come easily today, my well-being has given place to just being. My thoughts keep me captive in my pain, and my once sweet memories have turned bitter, leaving me sad and sadder. Today I’m desolate in my solitude and devastation.Like a visit from a family member unloved, this devastation must be tolerated for a duration. Today I’m heart-broken and missing you, your voice, your laughter, even your tears.

When that tomorrow comes, will I look forward with tears of joy when once we are reunited? To see my best friend again will bring me untold delight, to see my mom - ECTASY! Until then, I wait with long-suffering as my support, with love for you as my stronghold, and today. . . with pain as my companion.

"only words" that you offer MFB? Hardly! Thank you so much, I look forward to reading this over and over, especially during those difficult times when the tears want to flow!

Escape to pleasure and smile.

©-MFB III

There is a space

deep inside us all

a well that refreshes

and gives new flavor to life

it is seldom visited often enough

but it's always ready to invigorate

Immerse yourself there

in that pool of happy tears

long since shed

on the paths of memories lanes

where what is old, and familiar and warm

will renew...blotting out despair

that grows like a fungus on

your present state of mind

Pick a spot...any spot

back when you were five

Mom's tenderest kiss

your first taste of ice cream

or the taste of watermelon

on a hot noon in July

your first kiss

whether or not it was

in dreams or real...

use music to help carry you there

there is probably a song

for every moment in our lives

that was playing then

that one special song you so love

go back to a place you cherished

and spend the day

even if it is no longer there

breathe the air...walk the fields

your youthful feet trod

call an old friend and just chat

look in the mirror and take stock

using admiration only

to define all of your assets

for you see there is a space

inside of us all

that harbours us

from the cruel edges

of each days realities

~

Walk softly there

leave no depressions

in it's sands

go barefoot in

the summer that was

relive the love

that made your heart

race your soul

till they both won

feel the soft touch

of a concerned friend

or just spend some

moments on the beach

wind in your hair

and salt tang on your lips

gulls crying stereo wails

for all the days you were away

I send with you only positives

and a small kiss of gratitiude

for your cries

we have all at

one time or another

been in the land of

uninspired

the sick, the weary

and the lonely

on an incline

overwhelmed

where gravity

strains the shouders

and despair is

the only pairing you know

escape from there to a place

that knows not these burdens

and s m i l e ! !

It's only words

all that I can offer

while wishing there was more.

Hi Money Glitch, thanks for reading. I'm glad this very sad month is almost over as losing her hurts the most right now. I look forward to filling my soul with pleasant memories about her once again. I appreciate your comment.

I read this hub first and had to go back to see what had happened...(the lost of a loved one). The words sounded so familiar that within my spirit I already knew.

Hang in the Jen, some days I can recall actually having to tell myself to breathe just to make it through the day. Thanks for sharing!

The darkness comes and goes. We all have our ups and downs. I know you are shinning trough your hubs, the clouds have no chance to survive! Be strong and smille. God will guide your steps and I will read your hubs. :-)

Hi Connie, Yesterday was the official day, but was much easier to get through then the day I wrote this poem, which was on Tuesday. Don't know why, but am glad its over now, needless to say. We do get through it, which is what I hold on to. Thanks for your comment.

One day at a time, sweet Jesus....I love that song, sung by Christie Lane. We have to face each anniversary of death like all others. Somehow we get through them and go on, and yes, the memories are bittersweet, yet then again, more precious than Gold to us. They can make us cry and they can also make us smile and laugh. Embrace the wonderful memories as the day approaches as we both know our loved ones are smiling down on us from Heaven.

Good Morning Jessicab, tnderhrt23, and Sue

Thank you all very much for your caring and empathetic comments. Yesterday was a very hard day, but am glad that my heart is not as heavy today. Writing this brief poem helped as did your warm comments.

Glad the sun is shining once again! :)

Dar,

Few words, much said! Reaching outward rather than sinking inward, even in your moment of anguish, you see the light of joy. You feel the mixture of all that is, knowing each is a passing fleeting thing...except the final note of joy, and although it sounds so faint now...you hear it yet.

Bless you through this leg of your JOurneY! Prayers, Love, Light and Peace to you at this time! Se

Moving piece, I have visited this place more than once in my lifetime. My favorite line...""Like a visit from a family member unloved, this devastation must be tolerated for a duration."...this too shall pass...be strong, have faith, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning"
